Dr. Hamed has solid professional experience in Renewable Energy (wind and Solar), Energy Efficiency, Energy Demand Policies and Analysis, PPP Energy Infrastructure, Investment Policy Setting, Implementation of Investment Portfolios, and Strategic Planning.
Dr. Hamed has proven and solid experience in Energy policy identification and implementation and Energy sector regulation. He has been instrumental in the design, development and implementation of the Renewable Energy Programme in Jordan. As the Minister of Energy and various other roles, Dr. Hamed has demonstrated substantial experience in the financial management of budgets including preparing financial projections, general financial management and reporting. His experience as Minister of Energy provided extensive involvement in the development of a strategic roadmap for the national energy sector and ways to keep up with the demand.
Dr. Hamed has extensive leadership experience at field and Headquarters levels. He formerly held positions as the Chief Commissioner and CEO of Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC), and Director General of Public Transport Regulatory Commission (PTRC). Dr. Hamed has experience with energy policy development in issues related to electricity sector regulation and development, mining and oil and natural gas.
